Consideration
...is the word that comes to mind when I reflect on what I do. It is paying attention to detail while keeping the production moving at a progressive pace. It is listening to the client at every turn as they articulate how they envision the final product. It is working together with a talented team, encouraging and enabling everyone to reach the client's goal. Moreover, it is to value the people involved more than production itself.
Background:
I'm a second-generation photographer who started a lifetime of passion for photography while printing with my Dad. Prior to creating my business in New York City, I apprenticed advertising photographers where I gained experience in lighting, composition, production, travel and teamwork.
Challenge to Myself:
When looking at an ad for fast-food, I can't help but wonder how many hamburgers are sold for the photography to take place. Hamburgers, barley seed, brass beds, kilowatts of electricity, invested dollars, window treatments, magazine subscriptions... Money is being spent. It keeps me constantly pushing for the best images — and it keeps me on the same page with my clients.
